The Remington Standard No. 2, circa 1878 (21 Views) M60 Home     Remington Gallery

The Second Anglo-Afghan War refers to a war between the United Kingdom and Afghanistan that lasted from 1878 to 1880. The first was from 1839 to 1842 and there would be two more after the second. Just between Briton and Afghanistan. It makes great reading, but that's another story.
What matters here is the Remington Standard 2's appearance in the world of business, the men's world of business, and the sweeping changes it brought in opportunities for women. Not equal opportunities, of course.
