1947 Imperial Standard
Imperial (circa 1947) (9 Views M60 Home     European Gallery

This is, as the name boldly declares, a typewriter that carries itself in a truly imperial manner. It is quite large and will require plenty of room atop one's desk. A typing stand in the Mellow 60s museum looked decidedly nervous and uncomfortable when bearing up under this lovely, lovely machine.

Do remember, in 1947 the sun never set on the British Empire. Today, in late 2018, how the world map has changed and continues to change at a sometimes dizzying pace. The Museum should, perhaps, add a collection of maps for visitors' use.
